Youth is a synonym of energy. If Bharat will revive on the social, economic and education front then there has to political reforms that will support it, without youth which is heavily affected by the policies of government this seems improbable. Youth can uphill this task, several of the present leaders came from student politics even our honorable home minister Amit Shah, Defense minister Rajnath Singh, Environment Minister Prakash Javedkar, IT minister Ravi Shankar Prashad, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee were leaders of the student union. The irony is these leaders are themselves against the student politics now, according to former JNU student union leader Kanhiya Kumar its because they want their children to become the future leaders and do not want any challenge from others. Though having ample potential student politics is practiced in the only handful of institutions mainly because of violence associated with it. If the proper regulatory body is set up to monitor student politics then its drawbacks can be minimized. University level decisions such as the appointment of HOD, VC often takes place through internal politics without the involvement of students, hence they are always in controversy. Student politics develops the attitude of leadership, cleverness helpful in every professional aspect. Hence student politics should be permissible and encouraged in universities and institutions.
