PM Modi and Amit Shah addressing party workers after result declaration. |
23rd may has passed making a new turnover in the
Indian politics with a non-congress government returning to power for the first
time in the parliament. What good incentives and policies provoked such a
massive reaction from the people of the largest democracy to vote for BJP …
Well as I analyze the recent 5 years the policies which affect people to a
large extent like the GST act, Demonetization have been against the government
as Modi ji himself did not mention these
in his election rallies. Yes there were some welfare incentives like Ujjawala
yojna, Pradhan mantra Aawas yojna in which the rural population of all
sections got the benefit , women were particularly impressed by having a gas
cylinder ( although many are now empty and not filled due to low income) but
these incentives turned out in the favour of the Modi government in rural areas
. But the vote percentage the BJP has got is above 50% which shows it was well
supported by the middle class, which was decisive in 2019 verdict .. what
provoked such a reaction from the 50 crore voters to vote for BJP given that it got no
attractive incentive, as I think there are three possible reasons for that.
First, the recent surgical strikes in balakot and the way Modi Ji presented it (
“ghar me ghus kar aatankvadiyo ko marege”) moved the heart of the common man
and he did not want to care weather unemployment rate is highest ever, GDP
of India is going down ,modi covered their eyes with the nationalism and rest
all the issues got bubbled up. Secondly, the biased Indian media presented
Modi Ji as the sole identity of Bharat and as a heroic personality which is
above all, it gave seldom space to the opposition and often criticized the
opposition like media was part of the government itself ( India ranks 138 out of 180
nation in the independence of media ) , this sort of presentation brainwashed the voters' mind. Third and the
most important was the lack of a credible opposition, as many of the voters
across the country are said to be quoting that they voted for Modi and not for
their local MP. Bharat did not want Rahul Gandhi as their PM, because he
failed to stand up in the eyes of the countrymen and also failed to raise the
issues like Unemployment, economy and farmers distress. He rather chose to
focus upon Rafale (“ chokidar chor hai”) and this was not sufficient for the
people rather it might have backfires upon him. This time people at large did
not even look who they vote for kamal as in Bhopal they pickes up Sandhavi
pragya who is a terror accused and says “ Godse saccha deshbhakt tha” . This is critical for those who believe in the Gandhi ji and his
contribution for Bharat. Such majority vote share is not very good for a
healthy democracy like Bharat which should also have a powerful opposition.
